Customer
The customer is a banking analyst that has been highly ranked by Asiamoney and Bloomberg for his Asian banks analysis, over 20 years in business. He is the longest standing Head of Asian Bank research in Asia.
He is known for extolling the unusual positives of Japan’s megabanks in 2005, and the risks likely to hit HSBC from its US subprime loan operations, in 2006. More recently, when most were concerned with nearly all Western banks in late 2008, was highlighted the positive outlook for Standard Chartered Bank.
Challenge
The customer wanted to create a system that will provide various reports about Asian banks, and discuss and compare the different Asian banks, focusing on their financial statements. The most comparable products are Grant’s Interest Rate Observer or Marc Faber’s Boom, Doom, Gloom report and Independent Strategy is another by David Roche and Cha-am Advisors by David Scott.
The website should be completely clean, no white noise, no distractions, no other offerings, no ads, no ‘resources’ section, no external links – just the report. Members should be able to access reports with their Username and Password, and this membership will be able to be purchased on the website.
Solution
A team of our business analyst and system architect investigated the business processes and needs, then created a set of technical documentation including detailed functional specification, system architecture and prototyped the future solution. A team of developers and testers created and fine-tuned a newly created web-based application with the use of 3rd party modules and integrations.
