The second time Paris hosted a regular FIX Trading Briefing in its focal location at Place de la République. As the last year, OB&T was attending this remarkable event.
The event was having two parallel streams this time, so more topics have been covered. Delegates talked about the regulations, Brexit, FI automation, SI data, cryptocurrencies and more.
As we all successfully passed the MiFID II, it was nice to hear that everything is still working in the industry. With the MiFID III on the way, some firms were searching for possible workarounds. Like those 🇪🇸Spanish firm trying to postpone the initial implementation to do both directives at once. Smart try, folks🤓!
At this conference, our CEO, Gregory Prays had the honour of being a speaker at cryptocurrency session.
The Cryptocurrency Wave in the Financial Markets
All panellists were unanimous in a conclusion that crypto space requires to be regulated in order to move forward. This is not because we love regulations that much, but due to the fact that it needs a solid base and acceptance to excel.
Anyway, there is still lots of work to be done here and hosting 💎crypto taxonomy with FIX can be the first solid step.
The event was wrapped by warming drinks and great networking as usual.
