At the beginning of March, a regular EMEA Trading Conference was held in a major London landmark and notable building – Old Billingsgate, former world’s largest fish market in the 19th century.
“This time the event in London was absolutely huge. It was really great to see it’s growing with every year”, said Gregory Prays, CEO of OB&T.
Conference paid a distinct attention to regulations, and namely MiFID II, so many changes that are planned ahead with FIX protocol were announced.
An interesting reaction of attendees to the blockchain initiatives and what do they feel about the future of such was followed by a poll. It was surprising to know that most of the interviewee thought this won’t be implemented in 2018 in more than 20% of venues and only 1% thought it will be much more. Guess who?
The event ended up with a remarkable closing speech of Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Britain’s greatest Paralympic athlete. A breath of fresh air of sincerity in our technical financial world.
